Attendance at this meeting in Zoom: Joyce Andrews, Janice Carroll, Dick Danner, Christine Francis, Jessica Freedman, Linda Jenkins, Diane Sunderland, and Vicki Revier
The committee meets the first Tuesday of the month from October –June, except for January, July, and August from 6:30-7:30pm in Zoom, unless the committee needs to change the date or the meeting falls on a holiday.

ANNOUNCEMENTS/INFO. SHARING: (Committee)
Congratulations to Joyce Andrews, whose article, “One Woman’s Pursuit of Tiverton’s Trash” made the front page of the Sakonnet Times on 4/15/21! Great article, Joyce! Well deserved!
TOPIC:

1. May beach cleanup? (Vicki)
Vicki reached out to Emily McHugh who mentioned she wanted to
organize a beach clean-up in May for middle and high school students
in need of community service hours. Nothing to report as of this
meeting.
​
2. Litter along Nanaquaket Pond Road (Jay)
Jay reported that Jim Karam continues to see a lot of litter on
his property on Nanaquaket Point Rd-near the bridge. Dick said he
had a discussion with one of the police officers and the police officer
plans to give Lt. Raymond’s Dick’s contact information as Dick
would like to see a camera moved to this area.
3. Recreation Committee Meeting 4/13 (Maureen)
Nothing to report as of this meeting.

4. Instagram/Facebook accounts for Litter Committee (Christine/Jessica)
Christine and Jessica shared a list of possible names for the Litter
Committee’s social media. (The name selected was “Clean-up Tiverton.”)
The Instagram handle will be @clean_up_Tiverton.

5. Garden Club spring cleanup? (Diane)
The Garden Club is in transition; and as of this writing, they have not
started any new small projects.
​
6. Update of littered properties in Tiverton (Any new ones?) (Dick)
Seven (7) barrels were removed from the residence on Fish Rd.,
which is a step in the right direction. Dick will continue to monitor
this closely by keeping in touch with Mr. Kaufman.
​
7. Signage in Tiverton (Maureen/Dick)
Nothing to report as of this meeting

8. Portsmouth DOT (Maureen)
Nothing to report as of this meeting.
​
9. Updates to Litter Committee Website (Diane/Joyce)
Diane and Joyce are starting to discuss changes to the Litter
Website. This is a work in progress.
​
11.Updates to Mega Seasons Gas Station/Retail Store Proposal (Maureen)
Nothing to report as of this meeting. However, Linda mentioned
that the Villages (located closely in proximity) are against this
new business
​

OTHER BUSINESS:
1. Adopt-An-Area List updates? (Diane/Vicki)
Vicki updated the Adopt List with the Litter Website inquiries and
the additions to our committee. (The library list has also been
updated and was sent to the library staff for trash-bag pickup.)
